My Why.

Trauma counselling is, without a doubt, the most rewarding work I do.

A few years ago, I went through my own ‘big T’ trauma. Like many others, I thought I understood trauma—until it turned my world upside down. I no longer felt safe, and I couldn’t see a way forward. Everything I knew about myself, others, and the world shattered.

Then I found EMDR.

Through intensive EMDR therapy, I slowly began to rebuild. It didn’t erase the pain, but it changed the way it lived in my body and mind. Do I still get triggered? Yes—sometimes. But those moments no longer completely de-rail me. I can breathe again.

That experience inspired me to complete EMDR training myself, and since then I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside others—survivors of childhood trauma, domestic and family violence, and sexual abuse. I’ve witnessed EMDR open up possibilities, ease suffering, and bring back light to lives that felt stuck in darkness.

It’s an honour I never take for granted.

This is my why.
