NDIS - Therapeutic Support
Comprehensive assessments
A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) is a specialised evaluation used to determine a participant's ability to perform daily activities and participate in the community. It is particularly relevant for NDIS participants to ensure they receive the right level of support tailored to their needs. The assessment involves a comprehensive evaluation of a participant’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social functioning, identifying both strengths and areas where additional assistance may be required. It typically includes interviews, observations, standardised assessment tools, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to gain a holistic understanding of the participant’s capabilities. The FCA helps in developing personalised support plans, guiding funding decisions, and recommending therapies or assistive technologies to enhance independence and quality of life.
Individual Counselling and Therapy
Individual counselling and therapy focus on addressing psychosocial needs by providing a safe, supportive space where individuals can explore their emotions, thoughts, and challenges. Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), sessions are tailored to each person's unique experiences and goals. These methods have been shown to be highly effective in managing anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional dysregulation. Through structured interventions, individuals can develop coping strategies, build emotional resilience, and enhance self-awareness, ultimately improving their overall mental health and well-being. Therapy also fosters self-empowerment and personal growth, equipping individuals with the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and stability.
